    Why viral cuts lie by omission

    A one-minute lowlight reel can show every brick from an hour-long open run and zero makes. Viewers infer “can’t shoot” from a sample that was selected for failure. The same session’s highlight reel does the opposite. FullTape forces both counts onto the same box score.

    How to check a full tape

    1. Find the source upload (often YouTube / longform) the clip was cut from.
    2. Watch (or scrub) the whole session; tally FGM and FGA for the player.
    3. Tally the viral cut separately — only shots that appear in that edit.
    4. Enter both ledgers here; read miss-share and FG% gap before arguing online.
    5. Save a named case + share URL so others can audit your count.

    Methodology & assumptions

    • FG% = makes ÷ (makes + misses). FGA syncs when you edit makes/misses.
    • Points-per-shot proxy = 2 × FG% (treats all makes as twos — open-run schematic, not eFG%).
    • Missing % shown = viral misses ÷ full misses (capped display when full misses = 0).
    • Bias score (0–100) weights miss over-representation, FG% gap vs full, and clip size. It is a desk heuristic, not a causal claim.
    • Half-court dots are schematic garnish driven by counts — not claimed real shot charts unless you place them.
    • League refs are published season averages; age-band rows are educational illustrations.
